NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. —Window World®, America’s largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company, celebrated Childhood Cancer Awareness Month nationwide by participating in the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. This event helped Window World’s charitable arm, Window World Cares®, contribute to the more than $7 million in funds raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
Since 1962, St. Jude has led the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. And families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Unlike any other hospital, the majority of funding for the groundbreaking research and exceptional care at St. Jude comes from generous donors. Window World stores joined together to support the mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.®, raising funds and awareness nationwide.
This year, 15 Window World teams have raised nearly $100,000 thus far. A total of four Window World teams were ranked No. 1 for their area, including Window World, Inc., which fundraised and donated $23,440 as of press time. Currently, chairman and CEO Tammy Whitworth holds the top individual fundraiser spot for the Charlotte market with a total of $7,890.
“I know first-hand the difference a knowledgeable and dedicated team of medical professionals can make to a family with a sick child,” said Whitworth. “And because of my personal experience, I am honored the entire Window World Family joins in my passion to support such a great cause.”
Window World, Inc., and its franchisees across the country understand the importance of giving back and sharing with those in need. With this conviction in mind, Window World Cares supports the children and families of St. Jude through year-round philanthropic efforts. Earlier this year, Window World sold its Indianapolis 500 concept car, The Stinger, at the Greatest Spectacle in Giving event. With nearly 250 signatures from racing legends, the car served as a platform for inspiration and hope, with the evening raising more than $1 million for St. Jude.
Continuing its mission of support, Window World was the national presenting sponsor of the St. Jude Presents John Rich and Friends concert for the fifth year in a row. The company will also visit Memphis for the annual ‘Window World Day’ at St. Jude, a holiday-themed celebration to honor patients and their families, this December.
